F.A.Q.’s

What is the TeslaChair/TeslaFormer?

The Tesla is a pain management/muscle toning solution that utilizes Functional Magnetic Stimulation (FMS); a magnetic field that is generated by a pulse that stimulates peripheral nerves to elicit contractions in target muscles. This means that FMS stimulates the muscles and contracts it at a higher rate than can be achieved through exercise.

What is the TeslaChair/TeslaFormer used for?
Tesla is split into two machines parts. First is the TeslaChair, which is mainly used to treat back pain, and incontinence. It has two applicators that can be moved to target difference parts of the back, pelvis. This is to ensure you receive the best and most effective treatment.

The TeslaFormer is two hand held applicators that can be moved more freely to target pain in different areas of the body, like the shoulder or knees. It can also be used for aesthetic purposes, like to tone up glutes and abs.

What is the difference between the TeslaChair/TeslaFormer and a TENS machine?
A TENS machine usually stimulates nerves for the purpose of relieving pain, FMS stimulates the muscle with the purpose of strengthening and rehabilitating them. This means that you’ll most likely experience decreased pain, and increased strength.

What does the treatment involve?
You will either be seated in the TeslaChair, or on a treatment bed, fully clothed. The therapy is noninvasive, and without any known side effects. The treatment takes anywhere from 15-30 minutes depending on the setting. Post treatment you can go back to your normal routine – no downtime needed.

Does the treatment hurt?
The TeslaChair/TeslaFormer is a highly tolerable treatment. The sensation is strange to those who haven’t experienced it before, but it is not regarded as a painful experience.

What is Mole-Mapping?

Mole-Mapping is the process in which all the moles/unusual spots on your body are examined with the aim of detecting skin cancer at the earliest stage possible.

What is involved with the FotoFinder – Mole Map?
You will be in your undergarments, facing a machine with a camera on it.  A nurse will direct you on what position to stand in, this is to ensure we get the camera to focus on as much exposed skin as possible.  When you are in the correct position, the camera will take numerous photos, making sure we get everything from head to feet.  Once that is complete, you get dressed and come to book your review appointment with a Doctor.  The machine uses artificial intelligence to detect any concerning spots.  At your review the Doctor will look at the concerning spots using a dermascope camera.

What are the advantages of the FotoFinder?
The computer retains a memory of your last appointment, so at any subsequent appointments, there will be notifications of what has changed, what is new, and what has remained the same.  This gives the ability to diagnose at the earliest possible stage.  Giving you peace of mind for your skins health.

IPL Hair Removal

How does IPL hair removal work and how many treatments do I need?
A course of IPL treatments can significantly reduce hair growth. The ideal candidate to obtain the best results would have darker, course hair and a fair complexion. During the treatment, the hand piece is held against the skin and the pulses of light are delivered at a setting that targets melanin. The bulb of the hair follicle is where the most melanin is located, so this is where the light is absorbed. The bulb and hair shaft are heated to a point which destroys the hair-producing papilla. Generally, clients will require 6-8 treatments and these treatments are conducted 4-6 weeks apart. The treatments will not totally eliminate all hair in the area treated.

Do I need to do any preparation prior to my IPL hair removal appointment?
Yes, this treatment is most effective on freshly shaven skin which is free from sunburn, rash or other inflammation. So, it is best that you shave the treatment area on the day of treatment prior to your appointment.

What is the difference between IPL and laser hair removal?
IPL treatment utilises a broad-spectrum light in comparison to laser hair removal which produces a single wavelength, specifically targeting hair follicles. So, although IPL hair removal is effective in removing hair it will take a few more sessions than laser hair removal in eliminating hair. Due to the broad range of light emitted by IPL hair removal, it is more comfortable than laser hair removal, making it a better option for those with sensitive skin.

Can IPL therapy be used in conjunction with other treatments?
The IPL can be combined with other cosmetic treatments and we can discuss your options and develop your treatment plan during your consultation.

How many treatments do I need?
This depends on the chronicity and the area to be treated. Usually, 1-3 treatments but some may find that 1 injection is sufficient.

How can I make sure I will see the best results with this treatment?
Of course, we are utilising your body’s own stem cells. This means that your own inner health will affect the quality of those collected. It’s always important to maintain a well-balanced diet and drink plenty of water, and in this treatment, we encourage that more than ever. Smoking, illness and stress will all play a part in reducing the quality of the cells extracted. During consultation we will collect some health history to ensure you are a suitable candidate for the treatment.

Can PRP injections be used in conjunction with other treatments?
The treatment can be combined with anti-wrinkle and dermal filler injections, chemical peels, IPL rejuvenation and Dermapen.

Is CLATUU treatment permanent?
Yes, the fat cells are killed as a result of the CLATUU treatment and have a very low chance of returning. Though it is important to note that it is not an overall body fat reduction and that the fat loss is only on the treated area.
