FAQ

How does Laser Hair Reduction work?

Laser Hair Reduction uses targeted light energy that is absorbed by the pigment in the hair. This energy travels to the hair follicle, where it works to disrupt future hair growth. Over a series of treatments, hair growth can become progressively finer, lighter and reduced.

How many sessions will I need?

Most clients require a series of treatments for optimal hair reduction, as laser is most effective on hairs that are in their active growth phase. The number of sessions required varies depending on the treatment area, hair type, skin type, hormones and individual response to treatment with some requiring up to 12 sessions.

Why do I need multiple treatments?

Not all hairs are actively growing at the same time. Because laser primarily targets hairs during their active growth phase, multiple sessions are needed to progressively treat different hairs as they enter this stage.

Is Laser Hair Reduction permanent?

Laser can provide significant long-term hair reduction; however, it cannot guarantee that every hair will be permanently removed. Some hair may eventually regrow and factors such as hormonal changes can stimulate new growth. Occasional maintenance treatments may therefore be recommended.

Does Laser Hair Reduction hurt?

Most clients describe the sensation as a quick warmth or light snapping feeling against the skin. Sensitivity varies depending on the treatment area and individual pain tolerance.
